Pieces of Gold - 26th Anniversary Performance

Pieces of Gold, an annual arts extravaganza produced jointly by Wake County Public Schools and Wake Education Partnership, celebrated its 26th year with the 2009 performance. Students and teachers worked throughout the year to produce a performance that supported the curriculum as well as entertain an enthusiastic audience. More than 800 students from schools across Wake County participated in this spectacular event.
In addition to the performing arts show, Gifts of Gold, a visual arts display, was featured in the lobby of Memorial Auditorium. Each visual arts teacher in Wake County was encouraged to submit one piece of art for this exceptional show. Pieces of Gold and Gifts of Gold enable the community to view some of the best talent Wake County has to offer while underscoring the value arts education has in a well-rounded learning experience.
