The Bridges to Success Network Program is a Transition to Teaching Grant funded by the Federal Department of Education
The purpose of the Bridges to Success Network Program (BSN) is to assist Wake County Public Schools in recruiting, training, and retaining highly qualified mid-career professionals with a bachelor’s degree or higher and recent college graduates as teachers in critical need areas within Wake County Public Schools.
The BSN program will assist individuals new to the profession and new to Wake County Public School System obtain North Carolina Teacher Certification. Alternative pathways to certification have been developed in partnership with local universities to meet the needs of eligible individuals.
A school-based mentor and school administrator will provide ongoing support and assistance for each new teacher. Professional development in classroom management, standards-based planning, and instructional strategies are examples of topics covered.
With the support of the Transition to Teaching Grant, our goal is to develop highly qualified mid-career and non-education graduates as lateral entry teachers who become career educators in Wake County Public School System.

Partnering Universities
The Wake County Public School System partners with four local universities to offer you a choice for pursuing your coursework toward teaching certification. Partnering universities also teach courses at WCPSS facilities once per semester to make it more convenient for you to attend university classes. Financial Support
- Tuition Reimbursement for two college courses per year for successful completion with a 3.0 GPA
- Reimbursement for cost of health certificate required for WCPSS employment

- Reimbursement of cost of Praxis Exam upon successful completion
