Community Assessment

Wake Public Education Community Assessment

The fourth biennial Wake Public Education Community Assessment was released on Sept. 14, 2004. Wake Education Partnership conducted the Community Assessment with FrederickPolls to determine community support for and perceptions of performance by the Wake County Public School System. The study is intended to inform local leaders about the public’s view of key issues and challenges affecting the future of Wake's public schools.

The 2004 Assessment is a follow-up to similar studies conducted in 1998, 2000 and 2002, allowing citizens and local leaders to see how perceptions of the school system have changed over the last six years. The study includes a gap analysis on a range of key issues the public perceives to be central to ongoing quality improvement in the public schools, such as teacher quality and school safety. The Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and IBM supported the study as primary sponsors of the poll.
